HouiHive is our community of independent carers, working on their terms, growing their skills, and making a real difference every day.
At Houi, we see care as a circle. Families give love, carers bring dedication, and together they create a cycle of trust. HouiHive brings carers together through a platform built around flexibility and choice – keeping the circle flowing for everyone.
Here, you’re not just filling a shift. You choose the type of support you’re comfortable offering, agree expectations directly with families, and decide when, where, and how you work.
The way Houi is built and how our community shows up is shaped by a few core beliefs:
We start with people. Families, carers, and each other are treated with respect, empathy, and understanding – always.
Carers deserve choice. We support learning, growth, and the freedom to take on work that fits real lives, not rigid systems.
Care doesn’t happen in isolation. We believe in shared responsibility, mutual support, and a community where everyone feels backed.
Trust matters. We’re open, consistent, and transparent in how the platform operates, how expectations are set, and how people are treated.
Be part of HouiHive, a network of carers sharing knowledge, advice, and encouragement.
Thoughtful blogs from our newsroom, making care feel clearer, calmer, and more approachable.
Every shift matters. By supporting families while taking care of yourself, you strengthen the care community and help keep the circle of care moving smoothly.
If you want to:
Contribute positively to families’ lives.
Work on your terms with flexibility and choice.
Be part of a community that values you.
then HouiHive could be a natural next step.
Care isn’t a one-size-fits-all and neither is the work.Care levels exist to give families and carers a shared language before they connect. They help outline what kind of support is being discussed, how involved it might be, and what level of experience is usually expected. They’re not labels. They’re not decisions made by Houi. They’re simply a way to make conversations clearer and fairer from the start.
Care levels help guide pay discussions, but they don’t fix rates. More involved or complex care often comes with higher responsibility and experience which is usually reflected in pay. Families and carers agree rates directly, based on what’s needed and what feels fair to both sides. Typical discussions might include:
Care levels help set expectations, not outcomes.
Yes. Always. HouiHive is built around choice. You decide:
⦁ What level of care you’re comfortable providing
⦁ When you want to work
⦁ How involved you want your week to be
Some carers prefer lighter, routine support. Others enjoy more complex care. Many switch between the two. Houi supports all of it, on your terms.
That depends on the care you choose to provide. Everyday support may involve companionship, mobility help, or routine tasks. More complex care may involve following care plans or supporting health needs and typically requires relevant qualifications. Carers work within their own skills and experience, with expectations agreed directly with families. Houi doesn’t assess care needs or assign roles.
Most care platforms are built around filling shifts. Houi is built around people. Here in the hive:
⦁ Choose how you work, week by week
⦁ Understand expectations before connecting
⦁ Explore different levels of care without being boxed in.
Think of it as a conversation, not an interview. Talk openly about:
⦁ The type of support needed
⦁ Routines, preferences, and boundaries
⦁ Engage from a place of comfort and clarity. A shared starting point can often blossom into stronger relationships.
Whether you’re looking for care or offering it, Houi is built for people who value clarity, dignity, and human connection. We’re here to support thoughtful decisions, honest conversations, and care that fits real life.
